Upcoming events

For the month of February I am partnering with Debbi DiMaggio, of Highland Partners, in Piedmont, to support Wardrobe for Opportunity. All during the month you can drop off your gently worn, clean, office appropriate clothing donations (on a hanger, please) at Highland Partners office (342 Highland Ave., Piedmont).

Debbi is doing great things for the community by offering her office as a focal point for events and workshops, open to the public. On February 24th I'll be speaking about Your life.Organized.™, stay tuned for details....

Wardrobe for Opportunity (WFO) is an innovative nonprofit organization that empowers low-income jobseekers across the Bay Area with the skills, tools and support they need to find and maintain employment, build successful careers and, ultimately, achieve economic self-sufficiency.

Since 1995, Wardrobe for Opportunity has helped over 17,500 low-income members of our community, referred from over 150 job-training and social service partners. Serving clients from our two locations in downtown Oakland and Concord, WFO has achieved impressive results.

My week in Santa Rosa

I just returned from a week in Santa Rosa. I was invited to speak at 4 senior moving seminars given by the new senior community at Fountaingrove called Varenna. They are almost finished and ready for the first move ins. I spoke about the joys of downsizing and the moving process.

But no matter how much we talk about downsizing, it seems that everyone wants to bring more than their new apartments will hold. The hottest discussion at all four sessions revolved around renting extra garages to store stuff in.

September events

I love the fall season. Fall colors are my colors, as you have probably noticed on my website. I'm from Wisconsin and fall in the midwest is the best by far. Fall means burrowing in, spending more time at home, making soups and doing All Things Home!

What's up with me for fall - workshops and presentations. I will be presenting my workshop on "Organizing Small Spaces" at Aegis in Cardinal Point. On Sept. 13th I will be presenting to the Oakland Association of Realtors "Preparing for the Baby Boomer Retirement Surge" along with my friend, author Ciji Ware. But don't worry, I still have time on my schedule for YOU!
